hchoIt is really sad for Arsenal that interest in Gallas from French clubs did not turn into a sale. Wenger could have used the money to buy a solid and young defender.

As long as Senderos is fit, Gallas must sit on the bench with Wenger.

nvrLet's not be harsh. OK, he messed up a couple of games last season but had there been not the massive injury problems, Arsenal could have chased the title till the end and nobody would be talking about him now.

FeriAtsSagna is a right back, Clichy for that position. And I'd raher have Sagna at the right back, instead of Eboue. Eboue can be used as a right wing at times, and be substitute to Sagna obviously.

12.08.2008

FeriAtsGallas scored tonight, didn't he? Mind you, Twente is not the easiest team you could play in CL qualifiers.

13.08.2008

hchoI am not really convinced. Let's not forget the best of Dutch league are Ajax, Feyenord and PSV, which are about the same level of quality as Aston Villa or Everton. Twente are underdogs there. They had a succesful and that's it.

Gallas scoring in Twente game does not change the fact that he is unreliable. And I still can't understand how he keeps the captain's arm band despite his clear lack of leadership.

Maybe this is some sort of French connection.

hchoIt's been a while since I started this threas and finally it seems that the end of Gallas era in Arsenal is approaching fast.

21.11.2008

Robert O'CarlosAfter stripping Gallas of the captaincy, I'm not sure I can see a way back in to the team, long term anyway, for the frenchman. He'll be like a spoilt kid around the place now. Can see him going in January.

22.11.2008

fabregas123senderos is a shocking defender, i'd rather play djourou. Clichy should be at left back and Sagna at right back. And instead of vela what about nasr or rosicky (when he's fit he is amazing)

22.11.2008

fabregas123Also Gallas has had a goodish season this season. But he always seems to ruin things when he's playing and captaining well e.g. birmingham last season and now this, I'm glad he's striped of the captaicy for this but I don't see him leaving in january or in the summer...

22.11.2008

hchoWhen I did this formation Senderos was still an Arsenal man and he was not bad at all. Hence the interest from Milan. Then the golden rule of football kicked in: nobody plays better elsewhere than they did under Wenger and Senderos screwed up big in Italy.

22.11.2008

Robert O'CarlosGoing back to your leader comment, isn't Arsenal's problem that they're buying too many 'young' players and not fielding enough experience?

23.11.2008

chelseafcTrue Chelsea Legend = William Gallas

Won our titles with jose, was brilliant for us, went to arsenal and has made them one of the worst arsenal teams in history as captain. They aint won fuck all for like 4 years and at this present moment, i'm loving it.

Keep up the good work willy boy :D

23.11.2008

the wesWilliam Gallas is doing a brilliant job at arsenal :D

24.11.2008

Robert O'CarlosNot sure what it says about Arsenal fans when Gallas is getting so much shit for trying to sort out problems with the team and get them playing better, and Adebayor gets none for publicly saying last year he didn't want to be at Arsenal and wanted a move away.
I don't agree with Gallas making his comments so publicly but it all seems to have snowballed way bigger than it should be now.

25.11.2008

ZolaGallas was never a leader in the defense in his Chelsea days. He was the second man to first Desailly and then Terry. Wenger was trying to create a team leader out of him...What a mistake...

26.11.2008

Robert O'CarlosTrue enough, Zola. At Arsenal, he was the senior man. A sign that Arsenal don't have enough experienced players.

26.11.2008

ZolaGallas is only agewise senior. Look at the thing he does on and off the pitch...When at Chelsea, he moaned for playing out of his favourite position. Mind you, that's under Mourinho. Any player would kill playing for him. Then there's the matter of not showing up for the pre-season...List of his antics is just too long.

As for Arsenal not having enough experienced players, well they get what they ask for. If your manager is Arsene Wenger, you will always have a team of nobodies, playing entertaing football and winning nothing till they become somebody. And after they become somebody, they'll be sold on to maintain a balanced financial sheet.

RedrebelWhat you guys think of Carlos Vela? Do you guys think he has a bright future with Arsenal? I do. He is a very versatile attacker. He can play any attacking position, and he is very fast.

26.11.2008

Robert O'CarlosZola said: Gallas is only agewise senior.
That was my point, m8. He was captain by default only rather than by choice.
Vela looks a good prospect. Can play off the forwards or up front. I like him better than van Pussy anyway. ;-)
