MontyI agree. Guardiola's whole philosophy is built on a very Cruyff-Sacchi idea of universality. People always designate Sergio or Yaya as the 'holding' midfielder, but if you actually watch them the positional interchange is truly everywhere in the midfield. I think Fabregas would fit perfectly into this system, being bought as a replacement in the long run for Xavi.
By the way, there is a chance of a midfield of Xavi, Sergio and Cesc if they buy him; all Catalans from La Masia! What a rarity in today's game.
