gazlfcforeverChelsea played right into Liverpool's hands, a extremely narrow formation and two similar centre forwards made it easy for Liverpool to mark them. Anelka played just behind the front two but Lucas had an outstanding game and he rarely saw the ball.

I would have expected Anelka to drift wide to create some width but it rarely happened. The two Liverpool wing backs had solid games, they tried to push forward whenever they could and forced Chelsea's fullbacks backwards.

In the formation Chelsea were playing the full backs have to provide the width, if they don't then chances as they found would be extremely hard to create. Well done Liverpool and well done Kenny the formation was a masterstroke.

ZolaI must add Dalglish played his cards much better than Ancelotti. He didn't get carried away by the goal Suarez scored in his debut and kept him on the bench. This gave him a chance of a tactical move if needed.

Ancelotti really disappointed me with his starting line up.

GerrardTorresLiverpool won without Torres...and without needing Suarez or Carroll (I am aware he's injured)...this just shows the impact King Kenny has had on our lads - brought back the determination and team spirit the reds are really about.
Keep this run going lads! yeeew

leone02Maybe Ancelotti's line-up decision came down to pressure applied from above? 50 Mil is a lot of Cheese! Abromovich chose this line-up by default.

Torres looked un-enthused and the rest looked uncofortable.

Torres messed with the rhythm of the squad and with less than a week to prepare, this was a bad decision.
