david1993the least time Manchester united were knocked out in the group stage was in 2005-2006 season in which they came last in the group stage with 6 points.they drew 3 and won 1 game they aslo finished 8 points behind chelsea and the year before(2004-2005) 18 points behind chelsea and knocked out by AC MILAN in knock out stage of champions league.
after been knocked out in champions league the january united bought evra and vidic.
during the bad years i taught man united were just going through a change and i taught they would bounce back better than ever.
the follow seasons after united won 3 leagues in a row and won champions league
after 2005-2006 season people where doubting united and considering their downfall? dur
but they were wrong as history shows
now were in 2011 and what happened in 2005-2006 season is happening again in my opinion.knocked out of the champions league but it isnt as bad as Manchester united has great players with experience and great young players.
will Ferguson jump into January market?i dont think so
but united are still short of players that will make them as good as ever
so keep the faith and Manchester united will bounce back from the champions league exit and i hope win the league

mojojojo101Man Utd have played poorly this season and there have been isolate incidinces which have worried me but over all I'm not that worried. There are some very talented young players in the squad and in the reserve/youth set up.
Patience will be key over the next 18 months or so it will take to get the players (current and new) fully integrated in to the sqaud but time and time again Fergie has proved he is capable of doing just that.
P.S. I don't think Fergie will panic buy in January, he'll have a plan and he'll stick to it

david1993i agree with next 2 years if the young players develop they way everybody hopes they will develop cause they are very gifted youngsters,
i agree Ferguson probably wont buy in January cause in the 25 years in charge he never panics in January and buys he has bought only few players
recently was vidic and evra who struggled for rest of that season

chicarooneyIm quite dissapointed about United this season,at the start of the season we were on fire but since the Norwich game were we won 2-0 we have started to take are foot off the gas,it isnt fair that the newspapers always talk about are 3 loses this season,the Man City game would have been 2-1 if that Jonny Evans A.K.A the worst player in the world didnt get that red card,at Crystal Palace again we had Jonny Evans playing and it was his fault for all the goals,he didnt even move when Darren Ambrose hit that screamer we also had an unfit Smalling playing that day an unfit Rafael and an unfit Berbatov,We had the 2nd worst player in the world playing too Darron Gibson,Macheda and Diouf were terrible that day,Park made terrible passes but then in Basel were we lost 2-1 it would have been 1-1 if Vidic didnt get injured then that Jonny Evans came on and again Macheda was terrible,Fergie please buy us 1 centre back 2 centre midfields 1 winger and 1 striker.
