gazlfcforeverEngland's defensive 4-4-1-1 matches up well against France's 4-3-3 and we'll probably see them cancel each other out and create a very boring game. I think Milner will play on the left to tuck inside against Nasri and Walcott on the right to play wider against Ribery. The centre of the pitch should be very congested and I see France pushing their fullbacks forward to create some width and trying to expose England's backline. I think England will grab a 1:0 victory based on a counter attack from Walcott or Young moving into the channels when France commit too many players forward.

nvrA boring game is OK with me as long as we get at least a point. A win would be a dream start given the current conditions. Not the opponent I would want for an opening game.

The_Black_MambaSpeaking as a Frenchman I personally think England should go for it because for all our midfield and attacking prowess, we are vulnerable at the back no matter who plays there from our current squad. England's best chance of causing problems will come from the flanks, Debuchy and Evra/Clichy have all shown that they struggle when they come up against pacey wingers. And in Welbeck they have some one who will cause the rash Mexes and Rami problems with his pace, if they can supply him with enough balls to run behind those two he will have a field day. In saying that I would go with this starting XI:
.................................................Hart
Johnson.....................Terry.....................Lescott.....................Cole
.....................Gerrard........................................Parker
..............Walcott...................Young............................The Ox
...............................................Welbeck
4-2-3-1/4-4-1-1
But with all that said I don't who I should back, my native land or my adoptive country that has comprises of two players (Young and Welbz) from my club?
