RedrebelA lot of you guys probably do not know that much about Brazilian football. Well, Brazilian football is a lot different from European football. In Brazil defensive football is not as big as in Europe, but you might argue this formation looks defensive, but it is not. In Brazil football is an art. If you watch a Brazilian game from time to time you will see that their main worry is to score goals than keeping a clean sheet. The way this formation works is simple. You have 3 center-backs because in Brazil a lot of teams play with 3 strikers. You got your wing-backs which support the strikers and center-backs and two defensive midfielders to protect the midfield and help out the back 3 when they need support. You got a shadow striker which brings the ball out of midfield and brings it to the opponents box. Shadow striker and attacking midfielder is almost the same thing except shadow striker is more up forward and his main job is to score and set up, but with few defensive capabilities. When the team is on offense the wing-backs come out and the formation can change to a 3-4-3 or 3-2-5, but it is mostly 3-4-3. As you can see this formation is not as defensive as it looks like.

FeriAtsThis was the formation of World Cup winning Brazil National Team in 1994. What made this formation viable was outstanding performances of Cafu and Roberto Carlos. Despite being full-backs, these guys had tremendous attacking power.
