RedRae7Just a fanciful prediction for what may happen in the future, hopefully a move towards a team brimful of technically gifted youngsters who can play with their head up rather than the hoof and run we're subjected to today. At full back, I think we can do better and Oxlade-Chamberlains an unknown quantity tbh, so don't take too much notice, provide your own wide players if you prefer.

The main players who this team revolve around are the quartet of Carroll, Rooney, McEachren and Wilshere, 4 very gifted players who I believe can compete with the elite of Europe and beyond, based on potential and the glimpses we've seen so far.

nvrWalcott is a more proven name for Chamberlain's position. He is still 21 and started to show signs of maturing as a player this season.

RedRae7That cannot be disputed, I for one would love to see Walcott nail that position and make it his own. Like I said, its just a fanciful prediction based on the premise that Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is actually a player who can live up to the hype and is more than just a speed merchant with good finishing skills.

Any other areas of the team, you could suggest alternatives for.. like at full back for example, is there other more talented left full backs other than Gibbs coming through, the lad I saw today for England u21's Bennett, seemed quite a handful himself.

GeorgieWasTheBestThe key to these youngsters future will be the decision between warming a bench at a big club and getting games under their belt at a less glamorous club. Players like Micah Richards, Adam Johnson should put in transfer request and make their ways to clubs outside of top 5.

NorfLondenAndy Caroll is not the striker for this type of a squad. His style is more suitable for long ball game.

For this to work we need a clinical finisher in the box. How old will Bent be in 2014?

10.02.2011

RedRae7Carroll is a superior player to Bent as will be evident in the future. One is merely a decent finisher, the other has the potential to be an all round number 9, one who can hold it up and score goals.. since Shearer, we've struggled for one.

HjaltizDo you guys realize how soon 2014 actually is? Only one of those players has even a single World Cup game on his back, and even he is only 25. What about the younger players of the last WC, will they all be out in 3 years? James Milner, Glen Johnson, Aaron Lennon, Theo Walcott, Adam Johnson and Ashley Young will all be under 30 in 2014 and already have England caps on their backs.

13.02.2011

RFMHIsn't Redknapp probably going to be manager then? You can look forward to Crouch for a few more years! Ha it's a good team Walcott would be in it for me. Lennon will only be 26 then too.

Kelly may not stay a RB forever either and could become a first rate CB.

22.02.2011

RedRae7I don't rate Walcott, One-Dimensional.

Proffessional_Ameteur_REDWe never seem to have a problem breeding new quality defenses. As a ManU fan, I honestly nearly feel as secure with Smalling as with Ferdinand. Jones is also a good pick, not sure he will be ready for 2014 though.... Fingers crossed Gibbs gets an injury free run at arsenal. Chamberlain is overhyped. Walcott is good, but people forget that Lennon is only 23 and will only continue to improve. I beleive that we will have the GERRARD OR LAMPARD problem all over again with McEachren and Wilshire. We should play 1 of them, Rodwell and an all out AM which will probably be Morrison (ManU bias i know ;)

01.03.2011

ConzaradikalI think Gary Cahill is ahead of Phil Jones in the pecking order, possibly Ryan Shawcross as well. But like Hjaltiz said its in 3 years so there wont be a massive amount of change. David Beckham will be pushing the likes of Walcott for a place Lol

JamiegcI don't think Wilshire and McEachran would have the same problem as Lampard and Gerrard, the two youngsters' games are based around a technical short-passing build-up, and they're both very balanced. Lampard and Gerrard are more about spraying long balls and bombing forward into the box. The two younger players' balanced style would mean they have less problems playing together. Rooney could drop deep to provide the link between midfield and attack, leaving Carrol/Bent as the out and out striker.
