For instance Cristiano Ronaldo starting wide right on the wing for Man Utd with an arrow pointing diagonally inwards to show that he looks to run towards goal when he's in play rather than running down the touchline for a cross.

This is the so called offensive "Catenaccio" formation. This is basically a 4-4-2, but there is something different in the defense. Instead of having a flat 4 you have a diamond 4. You got the left-back,right-back, sweeper, ...

2 and 3 are hackers who boot the ball up the other end if it comes near them. 4, 5 and 6 are DMs who try and pass the ball if they win it. 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 are all forwards who stay in formation as much as possible.Comments?

my formation for 2008/2009 this season, i Tryed playing this formation and it worked i tryed a several formations and i found a good formation like this 4-4-2. What do you think?
